How this number is worked out
88 road deaths × 0.83 crash reduction × ( 800 active FSD users ÷ 840K vehicles ) = 0.1 lives / year
Because FSD is switched on here, the calculation uses the 800 drivers actually using it, not the whole fleet — this is measured impact, not potential. The 83% figure is the midpoint of Tesla's published crash-rate data; the vehicle total assumes 400 vehicles per 1,000 people. Full workings on the methodology page.
What changed here
Slovenia recognised the Dutch RDW provisional type approval under UN R171 on 8 September 2026. Every Tesla in the country with the right hardware could use FSD Supervised from that date.
Before that date it sat in the blocked column like the rest of Europe: this page counts 0.2 lives lost during that wait, and stops adding to it.
